22nd Mobile Libraries Conference and Festival of Bibliobuses
May 16 and 17, 2024 in Ljubljana

Thursday, 16 May - Festival of Bibliobuses and Mobile Libraries Conference, Day 1
Friday, May 17 - Mobile Libraries Conference, Day 2

SPONSORS

The festival and conference are co-financed by the Ministry of Culture.

The Mobile Libraries Section constantly strives to popularize and spread awareness of the importance and role of mobile libraries in modern society. This year, the 22nd Mobile Libraries  Conference will take place, with the topic Mobile Library as a Library Space. The vehicles of Slovenian and foreign mobile libraries - bibliobuses - will also be on display during the Festival day. The meeting is an opportunity to learn about working methods and exchange experiences, and contributes to the professional development of employees, as well as opportunities for international experience and new collaborations.

At the conference, we will discuss the importance of mobile libraries and the possibilities of their further development. Special attention will be paid to mobile libraries as spaces where a variety of library services take place, as bibliobuses are more than just vehicles for the transport of books - they are spaces for learning, meeting, fairytale rooms and information centers that open the door to knowledge and culture to those who do not have access to stationary libraries.
